Debonair is the main anime-only villain in the 2nd season, the mysterious identity who
hunted Hikaru's dreams and who used Nova for her interests, working
behind the scenes. She is ashen complected (cadaverously so), she has
porcelain-like bluish eyes, white auntie-styled long hair and creepy
long nails, a freaky laugh, a curvaceous and perfect body stylishly
clad in a dark and revealing outfit. She's unnaturally tall, she
seems to tower over anything and she carries shadows around herself.
She has a taste for ordering people around....or raging against
them. She really freaks the hell out of the Knights. At first, she's
mysterious and all, looking like your typical master of evil who's
just lurking around the corner to unleash chaos onto the world.
However, Debonair is the materialization, the essence of all Cephiro
inhabitants' combined fears: she has been created by the very same people
the Knights want to save, so her strength is enormous and she seems
undefeatable. Cephiro, the place where your will can determine
everything, is quite double-faced: as the monsters met during the girls'
first mission were a simple reflection of people dark mood, now Debonair
is the synthesis of their current feelings of doom grown after the
Pillar's death. If Nova is the creation of one human's negative
area, Debonair is created as the conglomerate of all people's
negative areas. She even lives in the negative image (the mirror
image) of Cephiro, where everything is dark and desolate. She
thrives on pain, sorrow and anger like any respectful villain.
Since people have always depended on their Pillar,
with each shake of the ground, their fear grows and hence Debonair's
power in a vicious self-fulfilling circle: the more instability the more confusion
and fear in the Cephironians, helping to make true this horrible
nightmare, who, from her side, hankers to double the resulting
chaos in order to get more power. During battles the Knights had a
very hard time, but then they managed to unveil her real nature thus
asking the people of Cephiro for a combined effort to wipe away the
evil by believing in their individual strength and not replying on
others to be strong for them. Backed by a whole country of
self-assured and brave people, consequently cutting Dedonair's sustainment,
they are finally able to defeat her in a heartbreaking last battle.
Nova is no more than a tool
in her hands to use against Hikaru, and Alcyone was exploited for
creating confusion as well. Debonair found Nova wandering in Cephiro
looking for Hikaru and told her she would take care of her and love
her forever. She also said that she knew how to get Hikaru to like
her, which was to kill her and everyone she loved. But, when Nova
failed to defeat the Magic Knight, Debonair disowned her. She never
cares about Nova or Alcyone's feelings, deserting them when proved
useless. Debonair's purpose is to make Cephiro collapse and take
over the Symbol of the Pillar (Emerode's crown, but the symbol
would change form to fit a new pillar), which she believes would provide
her with a stream of endless energy.....
