Eagle is the best fighter in Autozam and high commander of battleship NSX.
He is the one in charge for the accomplishment of Autozam invasion
towards Cephiro and his authority is unquestioned. Geo is the only one
who actually expresses doubts on his friend's actions. He works in the main deck of the
battleship together with his comrades, when he is not out fighting
with his FTO. Eagle's outfit is rather complicated but in tune with
the neat fashion of his planet: he wears a long double layered cloak
which hangs tightly from his shoulders because of the piece of armor
he keeps to fix it on. The light shoulder plate allows him to swing
freely his right arm, whose lower part is encircled
by a deadly laser weapon. Beneath the white and green cloak he's
dressed with a pair of black pants, a high collar long sleeved shirt
of the same color and a white belt. He also has a device to convert mental powers into energy
placed on his forehead with a band. There's a cable which connects the
it with his arm weapon, and both sides of his head are protected by
a loose green cloth which is pinned to the band and goes around his
neck till inside the cloak. Eagle is tall, slender and perfectly featured. His body is well proportioned
and unmistakably masculine, but his flawless face framed by short white hair
makes him appear more beautiful than actually handsome. His eyes are light nut
brown, smiling and hinted with amber sparkles. He's pretty young
considering the position he holds; perhaps only a few years older than the
Knights, but he takes seriously his responsibilities as high commander and he doesn't
like to rely on his underlings for risky actions. Eagle can't use
magic powers but he is a natural born fighter and fine strategist, a
real pain for his enemies when he gets serious in battle. At first
he seems to be the typical baddie sent to conquer a land in order to
get power and wealth for his country. But unlike the other leaders
heading towards Cephiro, Eagle has other reasons behind the invasion.
When Hikaru is being held captive on NSX, Eagle gets to know her
better and explains that he was sent to Cephiro because Autozam is dying
and his purpose is to gain the power of the Pillar in order to save it.
His planet is being devastated by the excess of technology, pollution
and by the incessant use of mental
energy, which is the very source of Autozam life force. Therefore his
planet needs new energy to survive and Autozam believes that the
Pillar System of
Cephiro and its relying on one's willpower can solve all the problems.
Apparently, Eagle knows Lantis from before his arrival to Cephiro,
they became friends because this latter had spent most of his
time on Autozam when he fled from his birthplace. During this period, Lantis
entrusted him with the truth about the system flaws and Emerode's
story, but with little use: Eagle's mind was set long before the
actual start of the mission and he was ready to bet his life on it.
Still, although he won't be shaken by anything for his quest, Lantis is an obstacle he must get past since invading Cephiro
after the trust the swordsman put in him gives Eagle a sense of guilt.
With his great mental capacity he can use
FTO, the strongest mecha in his world. He likes square and fair fights but
he doesn't dislike to mock his enemies a little, the saviors of Cephiro with
particular taste. He's over skeptical about them being young
girls, he thinks they're simply deceiving their opponents showing a cute and
frail appearance. Later on, he has to acknowledge their strength and a deep
mutual respect develops between them, especially between he and Hikaru.
Sometimes he's not enthusiastic about his mission, because he's not
trying to get the land for his sadistic pleasure and he feels there
won't be a happy ending.
His personality is calm, sweet, calculating. He's always smiling
and has a
good sense of humor, he's friendly, clumsy at traits, but when he fights he becomes
ruthless, combative and fearsome, almost wild....rather schizophrenic,
actually. He also seems to like driving Geo nuts with his carefree
attitude towards dangers and when he has deviated patterns of behavior.
Indeed he trusts his friend very much and values a lot their
friendship, but he can't manage to be completely honest with him. Eagle is not a stereotypical kind of villain and amongst Cephiro's invaders, he's surely the one with more
knowledge and ties
with the planet. He behaves like a selfish person, who lives to pursue his own
desire but he's good inside and he cares for the people he loves. This
inner conflict, which is very emphasized in the manga, fills him with sadness
and renders him confused about his feelings, but he actually has no
regrets. He feels
guilty towards Lantis but he's coherent with his choice till the end,
he basically decides to sacrifice his life for what he believes in and he
doesn't try to change his destiny. He meets his doom with the conviction
of having been of some help to his friends. He accepts his fate, while Lantis
doesn't and follows his feelings. His twisted behavior ends up hurting the
people who care for him, even if he doesn't want others
to be worried about him, just like Hikaru. He's terribly stubborn, there's no way to make him change his mind once he's
convinced of what he's doing. Reckless and careless towards his body, he holds
few consideration of his welfare: Eagle knows he's running out of time
since he's very ill due to the excessive use of his mental energy, and
he often has violent cough attacks, but he can't manage to hide his
real health status from others for long. Geo's the first one to notice. In both versions, he and Hikaru end up competing to be
the new Pillar. In the
manga, Eagle was put into a coma after Hikaru prevented his death, but in the anime he was
killed because he saved Lantis from Nova and this way, Hikaru's
happiness. I
personally hate the staff for this. However, sometimes it seems his feelings
for Hikaru go beyond simple friendship....

The Commander of the NSX, the battleship that leads Autozam's invasion force. He's Autozam top Mecha pilot, but off the battlefield he's relaxed and always smiling. He loves tea time (especially tea with sweets!) and taking a nice nap afterwards. His increasing sleepiness caused much concern among his friends. Little did they know that he carried with him a terrible secret...
