Inouva is Zagato's loyal adviser and servant. He's tall, skinny and looks almost fragile. His pale complexion highlights his sharp golden eyes and the candid dye of his hair,  cut at the height of his neckline. He wears a couple of longer white strands which frames his cheeks down to the shoulders, merging with the delicate texture of his face. Refined long pointy ears complete the regular harmony of Inouva's ethereal features, and an amethyst gem is set on his forehead. His symmetrical outfit, mostly white and decorated with simple golden lines is partly covered by a light ash-colored mantle pinned with a single shoulder plate. Few amethyst jewels, matching the very one on his forehead complete his severe and practical look. He doesn't carry any weapon because he likes to rely on his magical ability and on long-distance fighting tactics. Inouva, as much as he looks like an elf in appearance, is actually a magical creature with very little human features. In his true form, he looks like a large candid furry wolf with long whiskers. Both his shapes share the golden eyes and the gem in the center of the forehead, along with a transparent, fleeting aura of strength, grace and whiteness mixed together. He also regains the full use of his magic powers and he can inflict great damage to an opponent with spells based on his elemental property, the lightning. Weather condition influences his magical strength, that is why he reaches his top form and casts most powerful spells during storms.

Inouva has been specifically created for the anime and it's the only brand new character who appears in the first season of the show. However is role is very limited and his whereabouts are mostly unknown, since no clear past is outlined for him. Thru a series of flashbacks is shown that he is an arcane being who once served and protected Princess Emerode, being her faithful pet. Later he was given to Zagato as precious gift, and this latter granted Inouva's greatest wish: getting human shape. Although he looks mostly human, some of his original characteristics remain and his behavior seems to be completely unaffected by his anthropomorphic appearance....the astonishing beast-like devotion to his master could be proof of it. Inouva strikes at the girls a couple of times, in the Wind temple and on the path to the Fire temple. He carefully planned his attack, disguising himself as a girl, Sera, who gets rescued by the passing Ferio on the mountains near the temple. He noticed the feelings between the boy and Fuu and took them to his advantage: he tricked the boy to lure the Green knight alone in the temple, engaging her in battle. He had the upper hand almost all the time, but Fuu awakened her Mashin and Inouva got wiped away. Feeling the shame of his failure he resorts to his trump card: his true shape. Zagato reluctantly turns him back to his true form, and he challenges the girls in a fierce and felt battle. However Princess Emerode, in order not to let her Knights die, feels forced to reveal them Inouva's weak point. The fight ends in tragedy after he gets hit on the gem of his forehead and both his masters feel his loss.

He is as devoted to his master just as a pet could be, in a sincere, passionate yet childlike way. It seems he would do namely anything to please his master, to be, even for a little, useful to him. He deeply accepts Zagato's means, he never questions orders, he doesn't even seem to be thinking about them. He's completely different from his other fellows, he acts the way he does out of pure devotion and sense of duty, not for a personal return or for love. He's surely the most loyal and closest being to his master, probably the only one this latter cares for, and trust. This mutual perfect understanding leads to a kind of silent friendship between master and pet, even if in a way others cannot really comprehend: for Zagato as much as for Inouva dying for the people they treasure is the highest proof of their feelings, as to say life is not worthy to be lived without them. He's actually devoted to Emerode too and that is also why he deeply embraced Zagato's crusade against the Knights, giving away his life for the sake of his masters. He just wish for their happiness, be it achieved thru death or any other way. He wished for a human look in order to help his master better with military matters, and since Zagato accepted his request he probably felt trusted and decided to achieve anything Zagato wanted him to. However, the shape shifting spell could be cast just once, so when he asked to be turned back into a beast, he knew painfully well what it meant. But for him, killing the Knights and making his master's dream come true was the only thing that mattered anymore. Just for a chance to accomplish his mission he sacrificed his desire and later, his own life. Inouva is by far, along with Rafaga, the most powerful of Zagato's minions and he's also got brains. Since the beginning he was the only one who really knew Zagato's true intentions.
