Presea is the chief Artisan of
Cephiro and is the only one who can weld evolving weapons for the
Legendary Magic Knights. She's tall, skinny and utterly smiling. She
wears her long ripe wheat colored hair in a high ponytail; a golden wreath
with a single red jewel frames her head and her fringe, parted in the
middle to show the shiny stone, smoothly flows down over her ears. A
pair of sincere brown eyes enhances the disarming charm of her smile.
Her working suit stands in striking contrast with her refined figure:
Orange long sleeved shirt partly covered by a yellowish armored apron
and gloves; her long legs, clad in orange end in a pair of matching reinforced
shoes. Presea's outfit drastically changes when she crafts weapons,
becoming a long transparent-white sleeveless dress, barely locked by a
wrought round jewel. Presea can't cast spells, but her unique skill of
weapon crafting is granted by willpower, so in a way she can use
magic. When she crafts weapons it's a beautiful ceremony of dance,
very different from what the Knights imagined about blacksmiths.
Escudo is the legendary magic mineral of Cephiro, the
only material suitable for use in the construction of weapons for
Magic Knights. Escudo-based weapons evolve to suit the user's skill
increase. Being Presea the only one
who can turn Escudo into the most powerful weapons of all, she was
very aware of the "Legend of the Magic Knights" who would come when Cephiro faced a
crisis, and of her role in it: as Master Creator she would be the one to supply them with the special weapons.
Slightly after their arrival on the planet, the girls get immediately
directed at the borders of the Forest of Silence where Presea lives,
because having their own swords is the first step to become a Magic
Knight. During her first encounter with the Knights she immediately
started to space off and think about how to punish the girls who
intruded her home without even asking for their names. She was then
abruptly drawn back to reality by Mokona who was happily messing
around with some paper and she didn't realized until Fuu pointed it out.
Therefore she lost interest in them an started laughing in delight
while catching the mischievous Mokona in one of her traps. However,
after the girls got a chance to state their position, she immediately
showed them her most professional behavior and serious side, explaining
in detail their business there and the necessary quest to Eterna. When
the Knights successfully accomplished their first mission, fetching
Escudo, she finally turned it into the Knights' personal swords, which
would become in their last shape the very key for Mashins. In the
manga she simply collapsed for the effort leaving the girls on their
way to the Shrine of Water, while in the anime she gets killed by
Ascot's monsters hand in order to fulfill her task as Creator. Her sad
fate does not hinder her "presence" in the second part of
the show, even if under the shape of her twin sister Sierra. She's just nearly exactly the same as
Presea, the only other difference between them is they wear different clothes.
Basically the only thing that could tell them apart is a birthmark on Sierra which
Presea didn't have. It seems that Sierra loves Clef too and this just makes it even more harder for anybody to know she wasn't
the person she claimed to be, but Clef knew from the start. In accord
with this latter's will, the Knights were never told of Sierra's true
identity. Sierra is also a Pharle in Cephiro, her skills are nearly as good as her sister's: she managed to repair Hikaru's sword after Nova broke it.
Presea has a playful streak which confuses the Magic Knights when they first meet her, as she is eager to devise a suitable "punishment" for them. But she is also a very caring and competent weapons
crafter, a person devoted to her duty, honest and a little funny at
times. She likes to wander into her own dream world, losing all attention
to the outside reality, but on the whole she is a precious and
reliable ally for the girls. Clef entrusted Presea with Mokona in her
house near the Forest of Silence where spells can't be cast, briefly
explaining her the Legendary Knights would soon come there for her
help as Creator and for the fluffy white being. She silently accepted
this heavy burden for her planet's sake and for her own sense of duty. From her actions, it is relatively obvious that she is in love with
Clef, though she knows painfully one sided.
Though she may appear to be a frolicsome and mischievous woman, she takes her responsibility
by hearth and has a great amount of faith invested into Hikaru,
Umi, and Fuu. Moreover, when the Knights brought her the Escudo she puts her entire heart and soul into creating the
legendary weapons for her new friends almost passing out for the effort. She sure gets a kick out of torturing Mokona, though....

Comic profile:
In Cephiro, all weapons (both functional and
ceremonial) are made by Pharles. The top Pharle in Cephiro, Presea is
the only one
capable of making weapons from the legendary mineral, Escudo. She doesn't always listen to
what people are telling her and she has a tendency to get lost in
her imagination. When she crafts weapons it's a beautiful ceremony
of song and dance, very different from the blacksmiths of Earth.
